Apotheosized Undead

Lesson 5 Summary:

Description: The following process allows someone to make a greater form of exalted undead. These undead are capable of retaining a large portion of the functionality they had in life, though the process makes the memories of said life hazy at best. Unlike regular exalted undead, these are capable of performing more than just martial tasks. They are capable of holding complex trains of thought and enacting skills that require a great deal of mental and spiritual acuity. Furthermore, they are still capable of growth. These undead capable of growing in their skills as well as learning new ones unknown to them in life. I [Marcus] haven’t compared their progress to that of a normal human being extensively, but my observations have led me to believe that their rate of growth and learning is on par with the human average. I [Marcus] have named these creations the Apotheosized Undead. My first I [Marcus] have named Thomas, as he no longer remembered his own name by the end of the procedure.

Process:
1)Obtain one ensouled humanoid, anathema marked recommended.
2)Secure them in a splayed formation. It is important not to gag the subject as they may attempt to choke themselves to death in an effort to kill themselves prematurely before the process is finished.
3)Clear your calendar for the next 96 hours, minimum.
4)Beginning with the left hand unwind bone from muscle starting with the tips of each of the fingers.
5)Upon each bone as it is uncovered inscribe the appropriate runes for animation. All sides of each bone must be covered in runes.
6)Work across from thumb to pinky down until the base of the hand is reached.
7)Inscribe the base of the hand and them move up the arm stopping at the shoulder socket.
8)Heal the flesh and muscle of the arm and make sure that it is fully healed before moving on.
9)Repeat the process with the left leg big to little toe, moving upward and stopping at the top of the leg socket. Take special care around the ankle and knee. Heal the leg as you healed the arm previously.
10)Continue the inscription process with right leg then move on to the right hand.

Note: Up until this point the subject has been suffering only limb wounds, which while painful are not life threateneing, if the time is taken to allow each to heal before moving on to the next. These next steps involved the torso, spine, and skull. As such one must take constant care to keep the subject alive and merely in state of nearly constant critical condition. While there are actually fewer bones in this part, the risk of the imminent death of the subject makes the process that much slower and more arduous.

11)Starting with the subject’s left handed rib cage inscribe each rib over and across the spine ending with the parallel right rib.
12)Repeat the process down the rib cage, then down the remaining vertebrate until the waist is reached.
13)Inscribe the hips and pelvis as before until no bone below the collarbone remain un-etched.
14)Starting with the collar bone again etch left to right moving up the remaining vertebrate and throat bones to the skull and ears.
15)Etch all remaining bones above the collar bone, saving the skull for very last. You may need some very fine needles to etch the bones of the ear.

Note: Do not penetrate the brainpan in an effort to etch the inside of the skull.

16)Etch the skull completing the inscribing of runes onto all of the bones of the body.
17)Allow the subject to completely heal from all wounds. Heavy scaring will have likely occurred by this point.
18)Using a hammer place two silver needles, each inscribed with your name, at the bottom base of each ear. Both needles need to be long enough to reach from the base of the ear, through the skull, penetrate down through the collar bone and skewer the heart.
19)Quickly hammer each needle from the base of the ear into the heart as outlined in the previous step. Both needles must be hammered through the skull and heart before death has a chance to overtake the subject.
20)At midnight on the last night of the full moon, under the full moon’s light, remove the needle from the right ear. Using the combination of the needle and your own name the subject will obey you as their new master.
