Death

p>A little back tracking is in order for explaining this study. After carefully speaking with many of the residential people of the town of Nexus. It was determine that in the process of dying and going to hell that in going a person’s soul would acquire what is now known as Death Essence. If of course a person where to visit hell repeatively then the essence of death would bond to the spirit enough that one could not return to the land of the living. To which I (WillowBark Whisper) and my Late Apprentice Drianna took it upon ourselves to find a way to correct this condition.

Residing in a place between life and death, the GateKeeper keeps notes of the names of those who have died.  At the moment, Hell is full so he must send anyone who dies back.  If they do not have a way to be put back into their body correctly, these souls become Hungry Ghosts.  If the  Gatekeeper were to squeeze anymore souls into Hell, the excess would be pushed into Oblivion.

This is not to say that the Gatekeeper does not worry about the problem.  There is currently a quest being led to find a way to solve this problem.

Death is apparently something universal to all of the various worlds, though not necessarily in the same way.  For instance, to the denizens of Undersea, death is seen as part of a cycle where the soul is simply reborn into a new individual, where as in the Rock of Storms the souls of those dead who are found worthy by the Storm Father are brought to the Rainbow Hall.  To be clear, whatever your conceptions of how death worked in the world you came from, the laws governing such there do not apply here.

The Death Arts are something I do not have much knowledge in as far as Evictus but the Death Art’s are a type of healing that involves the preservation, decay and possibly corruption of a corpse. Upon studying undead made by the Death Art’s it was determined that a form of pictograph charged with an almost magical effect placed upon the bones within the body ties the spirit to the body as a form of locomotion. Upon destroying the bone the spirit is released.

 Futher Study will be needed to be performed to determine it’s full effects.
