Lesson 5 Summary:

Description: The following process allows someone to make a greater form of exalted undead. These undead are capable of retaining a large portion of the functionality they had in life, though the process makes the memories of said life hazy at best. Unlike regular exalted undead, these are capable of performing more than just martial tasks. They are capable of holding complex trains of thought and enacting skills that require a great deal of mental and spiritual acuity. Furthermore, they are still capable of growth.

Lesson 4 summary:

Necessary equipment:
1 copper kettle large enough to comfortably fit a human body inside.
2 smaller kettles to hold several pounds of tallow and candle making detritus.
wooden utensils for safely harvesting tallow from hot oil.
Several gallons of oil. Any kind appropriate for candle making, plant oils often work best.
1 oven
1 candle-dripping rig.

After a soul has left a body the body is neither useless nor bereft of energy/essence. There are residual traces of energy left within the body. Just as the soul can be guided and shaped while alive, these deathly energies can be guided and shaped after death. These energies tend to focus upon certain areas and in doing do are able to be harvested for use in the bits of flesh that they are guided to or naturally collect in. Interestingly this guiding and harvesting does not require any abilities beyond the 4th rank of healing and can easily be harvested by any sufficiently trained healer.

What follows are my [Marcus] notes summarizing medical analysis of 3 members of the 1st valley. All subjects seem to have had some form of medical alteration done to them. None of the subjects have requested anonymity.

Relevant traits: No memory of early life. No known parentage. Believes himself to have a connected to the splinter world The Sea of Stars.

Lesson 3 Summary:

This next entry will be less of step by step instruction and more of a general oveview.

Lesson 2 Summary:

1) Obtain a gemstone of size and quality that it could be used in the most wondorous of jewelcrafting.
2) Set the Gemstone into the blunt end of a large metal spike.
3) Obtain one still living human being. An anathema marked usually works best given the procedure.
4) Immobilize them.
5) Strip them naked.
6) Taking a brush and ink paint a circle around their heart.
7) Paint lines from all their extremities to the circle around the heart.
8) Put the spike into the center of the circle.

Lesson 1 Summary:

1) Take a body that is dead and who’se soul in on the verge of leaving.
2) Just when the soul is about the leave cover the nose and mouth with your hands completely.
3) Insert a bellows into it’s mouth and inflate it’s lungs.
4) Quickly sew it’s nose and mouth shut letting no air escape.
5) Suture all four limbs.
6) One at a time saw off each lumb and in the socket where the limb was, sew the major blood vessels to their return veins.

Death…It has taken me (Willowbark) a good deal of research to progress in my studies of the process of death, and which I found out unequivocally that “Death Essence” or “Death Taint” is a misnomer; according to all the research I have found, the more precise term is “Death Aspect,” for it refers to the inevitable result of a soul’s or essence separation from its body. Death Aspect accrued as a result of a “Re-embodiment” is Not a to be likened to a “corruption” any more than it can be said to be a “corruption” when someone truly dies.

It has been through deep study that essence in most are nearly universal. To some the term essence is simply another terminology of the word soul. To many the term soul means the unbridled meaning of what makes a person. "I think therefore I am" comes to mind. The spiritual part of a person as sometimes distinct from the physical.

Over the course of the last several gathers of which I (Willowbark) write this page it has come apparent that the beastmen of the Horn King offered quite a unique opportunity in the continued research of corruption. One that their anathema corrupted state posed a grand opportunity to study if their corruption was similar to the frost hearts and what I found was quite intriguing to say the least.
