Oun

Dark Aesthete Astrolabe

The Dark Aesthete Astrolabe is named so, unremarkably, because it is an astrolabe created by the Dark Aesthetes. It functions in every way as a standard astrolabe, in addition to its more terrifying purpose.

Dark Aesthetes

The Dark Aesthetes were a group of political artists in the time of Oun. They actively spoke out against the cultural feeling of immortality commonly shared among the Ounish peoples and were both lauded and criticized for this.
They were seven in number, lead by one known as Ophidius.

Gray Watch: A History and Expose

This shall be an ongoing research into the nature and abilities of the Gray Watch.

Nature of the Organization: The Watch was tasked with policing all manner of “spirit media”, a term repeated in Ounish texts and included (but not limited to) references to “spirit-essence powered artifacts,” “spirit-forged entities,” and “untamed spirit essences.” Although working with spirit matter was open to individual artificers, the Gray Watch had licensing authority and oversight over all such matters.

Synopsis of a meeting with The Lord of the Worm Eaten City

Since no announcement was able to be made I’ll post a brief synopsis of the meeting with the Lord of the Worm Eaten City. Everything posted here is filtered through his point of view.

  • A combination of deals was offered and accepted by the Lord of Worms. I will let the other party speak for their deal for themselves. I agreed to be the apprentice of the Lord of the Worm Eaten City and learn the Ounish arts of thanatology from him as the former head of the Bureau of Thanatology and Free Essences.

…without their tools. A proper survey of an Unquantified World requires hightly spepcialized devices, most of which you will be familiar with by the end of this course.

Before entering a world, even if its Transjectory has been divined, you will need to consult your Stability Analyzer. It is a good habit to check it every time before entering a world, even if it is Prime, to ensure that conditions beyond the Gate are not immediately fatal or immediately dangerous.

No two are alike (Note: This was written by hand.)

Oun is a beautiful world. You may have hear your “Household God” refer to it as the Forest of Doors. Sages tell us that it really was once a forest until the Grey Watch tamed the land. Now, it is the most important world of all. It connects other nearby worlds to on another. Because each world is different, each world offers something unique to Oun.

Rings of Sisterhood

<

p> At the last gather, a group of magically Attuned people found a ring (the finding of the ring is written as a journey to a Thought Spire.)  Upon returning to the town, the leader of the group, Morgant, asked that we not bring the objects which included the ring out into the open.  After the feast was over, Tazmira helped gather as many of the Occultists and magically Attuned people as possible to further study the ring.  Most of the original group was there as well.  Upon arrival at the Parlor, all were shown the ring.

Recent quest to a thought spire

A recent addition to Nexus from the Realm of Castles, Sir Morgant of Castle Dread, found a  trail that felt highly magical.  He gathered a group of people with magical sense and went searching down this trail to find what it was.  The members of the group were Victor of the 5th valley, Breezy the healing fairy, Leila of the Desert of Brass, a gentleman of the Desert of Brass, Tan Heng from the Empire of Perfect Unity, Sir Morgant Knight of the Realm of Castles, and Tazmira of the Desert of Brass.

Ounish Crafting and Artifacts

Much of the items found within the Forest left over from the Age of Oun, such as the thought spires, stone tables, doors and so forth are made of a particular material known as crysteel. While studies into the nature of this material are ongoing, it is readily apparent that crysteel items are shaped in a manner similar to that of lumencrafting; that is, the crafter uses the natural essence imbued in the material or drawn from the forest to effectively ‘sculpt’ the item into being.

I (Willow) recovered this page from a journey log from a group of explorers of different Realms that decided to take upon themselves to explore the lower under parts of this world this is what is written within.
