David Axe Slayer and his Hunt for the Beast-men Lieutentant
David Axe Slayer and his Gentle Breath-taker,
The Horned Kings men he would hunt that day!
Marching to war to battle his foe
Only a handful of allies would go!
The odds were no less than twenty to one,
But if David didn’t fight the odds, then battles were no fun!
He spoke very few words, but he sang all the same.
Gentle Breath-taker was his voice that day!
Waiting is not David; he goes forth to meet,
His enemy in battle; Hacking and slashing, commanding their defeat!
He hunted his prey; he stalked relentlessly.
But through wave after wave of Beast-men, not bushes or trees
The trail that he blazed, he carved in their gore.
An army had met him and he cried out for more!.
When finally he thought he had found his prey,
His enemy, both magical and enormous in size!
This Beast-man Lieutenant was the greatest to attack,
Second only to the Horned King, who hid in the back!
This Lieutenant was swift, strong and virile,
Slashing and chopping, he fought with savagery, merciless, and guile!
He yelled out his challenge to threaten them all
But David stepped forth to answer the call.
The Battle that raged caused the spirits to flinch
For hours they fought, sweated blood, but neither gave an inch!
It would seem, that after a long day of war
Both of them struggled till neither could fight anymore!
A stand-still, a draw? Would no one win?
Both warriors battered, blood covering their skin.
Two titanic fighters stepped back to draw a quick breath
But then David saw his companions surrounded by death!
A fury overtook him, with blood-wo he charged in
The cost for the beast-men, their lives they would pay
But the Lieutenant, he rested as his foe still fought,
A few restful moments his best-men bought.
A great leap and with a mighty roar, refreshed and renewed
The Lieutenant called out, his challenge anew
David lumbered forth, his energy all but spent.
But if he was to die, Gentle Breath-taker would show no lament!
The clash of their weapons sent deafening shockwaves
As if Thunder itself had joined the fray!
But they fought on, first moments, then minutes, then hours
And the Lieutenant was witness to David’s true power
Eyes locked, they had both held fierce determination
Yet one set of eyes now showed frustration!
It happened so fast after such a long fight
That one set of eyes had no time to show fright,
of the blow that split them from chin to pate!
The pelt of the Lieutenant is all that is left
From Gentle Breath-taker wielded by David Axe Slayer the GREAT!
