Mandragoras

Mandragoras are large, mobile plant creatures that, apparently, just hate most things. These creatures are not technically native to the forest. They were created when mandrake plants, which had been brought to the forest from the Realm of Castles, found root in the soil here in the forest. Because of the inherent magical nature of this world, the mandrake plants were changed and turned into incredibly agressive plant monsters. An incredibly telling characteristic of the Mandrake is their constant screaming and wailing.  This is because they are in constant pain.

Mandragoras, as plants, are incredibly slow, not moving faster than a man can walk usually. They are not particularly strong either. However, these shortcomings are made up by the fact that, as one would expect from plants, these creatures are incredibly tough and resilient. What’s more, they have the ability to cause the plants around them to grow incredibly quickly, ensnaring opponents. Actual mandrake roots can be harvested from these creatures, though often times when such roots do bud the Mandragoras will attempt to plant them into the ground in order to make more of their kind. This has made erradicating them, despite best efforts on our parts, incredibly difficult and unlikely.
