More Coal More Steam
More Coal More Steam
Just off the shift,
We got lots of wine.
Our engineer is drunk; we’re all havin a good time
We’re at crusin speed
When there’s a shake shake shake.
On the next track over another train WAS ABOUT TO OVERTAKE!
This other train,
Was runnin at full till.
And that train – passed – us – like- we were standin still!
Our eyes stared blankly,
All our jaws dropped.
“That’ll never do!” the engineer screamed; “More coal MORE COAL, more steam MORE STEAM!”
Chorus
More coal more steam
More steam more coal
More coal more steam
More steam more coal
We’re gonna run ‘em down,
Down to furnace town
They’ll not – beat – me – or you can call me Blimey BE!
Sixteen pumpin pistons,
Eighteen spinnin rods.
Fire shootin out the stack; the engineer give the nod!
Chorus
Bolts begin to fly,
Tracks begin to crack.
We were bearing down on the other train when our click-it-ties turned to clacks!
Scenery flying by
Everythings a blur.
The cross ties looked like single beam, with the ENGINE BUSTIN AT THE SEAM!
Just up ahead,
We saw a swayin light.
We heard that other train a crankin as the tail lamps came to sight!
Chorus
The pressure valve popped,
Bolts began to ping!
The bearings stopped bearing, the screws were screwed, but we had finally passed that train!
Our gears were stripped,
By the end of the line.
We might have blown – our engines up – but the LOSERS were BUYIN WINE!
Chorus
