Principle of Antipathy

This is the Principle that dominates the metaphysical reality of the Dark Mountains. The principle itself is rather simple, which is that a form of magic can be made more potent while in the presence of it’s direct opposite. More power is increased by there being a metaphysical tension. A case in point is the Greater Working I (Sol) developed. Summoning the Mantle of the Dawnbringer can only be performed while the Dark Mountains are dominated by Darkness and Shadow. If the world was dominated by Light ,it would not work. There simply would not be enough power generated by the opposition to fuel the ritual.

I (Sol) am unsure if this principle can be applied to any other school of magic other than the Dooms of Light and Shadow, but any school where there are direct conflicting element could be applicable.

With this principle in place the Dark Lords had to have taken on their mantles of shadow only when the Dark Mountains was dominated by the oppressive Light. The actual domination shift from Light to Dark must mean that a new and much different Greater Working had to have been constructed in order for them to go from Savior to Lord.
