Queen Jack

In an overview of the Library and after recent events I went looking for notes on Queen Jack to update and found there were no such notes. So I (Taryn) will attempt to remedy the situation.

Queen Jack arrived in the forest along with the rest of the original settlers of the second settlement (the first being destroyed by the Beast men). When she arrived she came with her hair cropped short, her torso bandaged tightly and dressed in male clothing, passing herself off as a young man of the realm of castles.

In time, she acknowledged that she was the daughter of a merchant family and had left home to avoid complications. It was also in these early months that she offered to help a fellow wanderling and gave up her true name to the spirit of secret names, an entity who later turned out to be part of the nightmare host. Her true name forgotten, she simply became Jack of the Realm or Jack.

Though a commoner, Jack took an interest in the defense of the new settlement and upon learning about the Ruined Cloister, a settlement made up of monks and other commoners from the Realm of Castles, took to spending a great deal of her time working with and talking to the people. This lead eventually to the people of the cloister naming her as their queen.

During the conflict between the daughters of the Empress, Queen Jack sided with Princess Madeline and even with the support of soldiers loyal to the princess, she saw the Ruined Cloister destroyed. When Princess Madeline left the forest to take the conflict back to the Realm of Castles and after the Chalice of the Unicorn had been recovered by Queen Jack and others, Princess Madeline bestowed upon Queen Jack Castle Cypress as a new home for the people.

Unfortunately, Queen Jack was slain in combat against enemies of Nexus, the name of the second settlement she arrived to help start, and her soul resides in Hell unable to return to the the peace of the Unicorn.
