Recent quest to a thought spire

A recent addition to Nexus from the Realm of Castles, Sir Morgant of Castle Dread, found a  trail that felt highly magical.  He gathered a group of people with magical sense and went searching down this trail to find what it was.  The members of the group were Victor of the 5th valley, Breezy the healing fairy, Leila of the Desert of Brass, a gentleman of the Desert of Brass, Tan Heng from the Empire of Perfect Unity, Sir Morgant Knight of the Realm of Castles, and Tazmira of the Desert of Brass.

It was a long walk to the object that we were searching for.  Tazmira had no idea what the object was, but she could feel waves of magic pulsing constantly.  When they came to the source of the pulsing, they found not only an Ounish Thought Sprire, but a pair of Spine Beasts playing with an unusual herb.  Tazmira tried to use her Attuned abilities to discover if the magical pulses were coming from the herb as well as the Spire, but the Spire’s pulsing was too strong considering the herb’s nearness.  Tazmira attempted to use her Empathic abilities to persuade the Spine beasts to let her have the herb, but this failed as the Spine beast started to softly growl at her and as she reached for the herb fully growl.  Sir Morgant in a stroke of genius used his broad sword to push the herb away from the Spire.  The Spine beasts follow it and continued playing with the herb until the group left.

Once the Spine beasts were well away from the Spire, it was apparent that the pulses were coming from it and NOT the herb.  It was then that the seven talked of what they should do to study the Spire.  The first thing decided was Leila use her scholarly abilities to see what could be discovered.  Then Victor would set up his Circle of Peaceful Twilight to protect Leila as she cast the spell, Echoes of Remembrance, to see into the past of the land surrounding the Spire.  This was followed by all those who had not exhausted their Attuned abilities and discover as much magical information as possible.  The final thing decided was that Tan Heng, the Empire monk, would perform a piece of his magic upon it to try and fix it.

The scholarly pursuit found that it looked much like the typical Spire and the runes on it were similar to those found on the Stone table.  After Victor had cast his circle, Leila perform Echoes of Remembrance.  She saw that this Spire was similar in nature to our Message Tree.  The area was used by the very wealthy.  After this all, but Tazmira and the Desert man, used their Attuned abililties and heard through a great deal of static part of message.  In this message, the names Penelope and Gideon where heard.  Something concerning a ring of the Order being in the summer home on top of a jewelry box.  Penelope had done something inappropraite for a member of ‘the Order.’  The person the message was for was connected perhaps through marriage to Gideon, and they didn’t live near the sender and she wondered why.  At the end of what they heard of the message, a map was imprinted.  After this was done, Tan Heng cast a spell that fixed the Spire.  After the spell was cast, he heard the message repeated again without the static interference.  The pulsing had stopped and become a steady wave of magic.  Tan Heng was also able to discover the name of the person the message was meant for and the name of the person the message had come from.  The message was for Cassandra Whitebranch and had come from Violane (I will insert it when I [Tazmira] have found my notes.)

As they gathered to leave, they discovered that while the Spine beasts had left, they had left a small bit of the unusual herb behind.  Breezy placed it in her bag to give to someone that would know.  They decided that they should go to the cabin since they didn’t know how long the map would remain in their memory.  When they came to the spot, they found an ancient Ounish home.  It seemed to be livable and in decent repair.  As they approached the building, they heard loud voices coming from inside.  They approached with caution and Victor went up the ramp to lure whomever was inside out.  The beings inside were either Troll-worshipers or Troll-kin.  Thankfully there were only 2.  It was a long and drawn out fight, but in the end, the beings were defeated.  When Breezy, Leila, and Tazmira, entered the building (the men were out finishing off the beings and guarding the door), they found an envelope and a small pretty box.  Inside the box was a bracelet that didn’t feel magical in nature.  Inside the envelope was a green ring and a letter.  The ring recked of magic.  When the missing members of the group returned from chasing the beings, it was decided that the only thing they could truly do now given the current abilities of the group was to return to the town and have others with more skill help them study the objects.  They were given to Tazmira and Breezy.
