Spill blood

During the first gathering at the Merchant Prince’s Tent, a letter was given to the Wanderlings. After careful decifering, we were able to read the following words:

"This is a key.

Spill blood.

Upon the forest floor,

To call those

Who came before."

This "spell" has been used twice to my knowledge. The first time was outside the Merchant Prince’s tent right after the letter was decifered. The Wanderling who spilled the blood was visited by a spirit.

It was at the next gather (October ‘06) that the Gatekeeper allowed the spirits of Hell to roam through the Forest of Doors for one night. When people attempted to bring these spirits back on the stone table, it caused the spirits great pain.

The second time this "spell" was used was during the Winter gather (December ‘06) last year. This was just after the Wanderling were lead to the new settlement by a spirit.

When I spilled my blood, a vision of darkness and foreboding came to me. At the time, I did not understand what I was seeing, but I’ve come to understand that what I saw was the fall of the White City.
