Sword Wraiths (Jesters of the Sword)
Sword Wraiths, originally known as Jesters of the Sword, were created by a group of people from the Ounish time known as the Dark Aesthetes. We can confirm that Sword Wraiths were not created or used by the Grey Watch.
What we call Sword Wraiths are magical swords that manifest a wielder. The wielder is a misty shadowy figure that is more or less controlled by the sword. Attacking the wielder will make it vanish after sustaining some damage, however, the sword manifests another wielder after some time or if someone touches it. The only way to defeat a Sword Wraith is to break the sword. It takes more than one attempt to break the sword as it is very durable. Upon breaking, they shatter into countless pieces that can’t be collected or reforged.
Sword Wraiths have only appeared at night so far and are distinguished by their green glow. Their behavior is odd in that they will not attack someone who is not wielding a weapon. Their behavior also appears to be very purposeful. The sword wraith will avoid a fight to reach a specific destination. We don’t know their exact intentions are yet as we have not allowed them to get far without a fight. In Oun they were used as inexpensive bodyguards and sentries, though other more effective methods were available.
There are two types of Sword Wraiths that we have encountered so far. The smaller, Long-Sword Wraith is the first we encountered and takes at least two attempts to break it. The larger, Great-Sword Wraith is more wild in nature and takes at least five attempts to break it. Both types of Sword Wraiths are very skilled and deadly.
