Types of Corruptions Found so far...
Over the year within the Forest I (WillowBark Whisper) have come across many different types of corruptions that affect the body and soul. Many of which have left different outcomes upon the patients body. These are just a few of the corruptions I have taken note of.
Anathema: Over the course of my research I took it upon myself to take into account the anathema marked. Performing a small examination here and there when possible. At current standing till a fully thurough study has been performed I have come to realize that this type of corruption seems to take part in every fiber within the patient’s body and no place save of course the mark above the eye seems to hold greater importance as the main source of this corruption. Further study is required…..
Frost Hearts: I first came across this type of corruption after a battle with the Ice Giant’s and their Empress. This type of Corruption seems to stem from the very heart as the organ has become completely frozen. In such the Frost Hearts would gain incredible durability, enhanced strength and immunity to both mental attacks. Further upon further examination it was determine that this corruption would indeed halt the effects of aging as upon removal of the source of their corruption the process of aging would try to catch up to the proper age of the Frost Heart which thankfully is several hundred or thousands of years old. Further examination gave query of possible healing if the subject is left in the cold long enough.
Bloody Eyes: I of course took the oppurtunity to examine this Being of great power by examining the blood he had left on the door of Taryn’s Cabin. It was determined that from that very congealed sample of blood the Bloody Eyes is one of the most corrupted thing to date that I have come across. At this point all samples where destroyed due to how dangerous they where. Further Research is needed….
Lord of the Worms: When I first met this being I took it upon myself to perform a range examination upon him. Needless to say his very form is his corruption that being accursed. How this powerful being got to be in his current state seems to point toward possibly a magical resulting death….possibly ritual magic. Further research is needed….
Accursed: I over the years have studied the accursed or undead as they are sometimes refered to as a form of corruption. Their very state of locomotion of undeath as it where stands as form of corruption. Currently due to how many different undead there are a later explaination will be given.
Possessed: These poor people (which so far have been aspara) each share a single corruption that links them together. The Corruption seems to surround them like a miasma intertwining both their bodies in thought processes and their souls in death. It has been determined at this point that such a corruption is the work of possible Nightmare Host. As the corruption when further examined seemed to work between the possessed like fingers. Further upon attempting to have the Nightmare Host leave the Victims Via death it was determined that the corruption within them was also apart of their very souls giving precedence when the victim’s of being possessed are placed within the Circle of peaceful twilight as the Nightmare host simply pulled the souls it had possessed out of the circle thus preventing possible coaxing of life back to them. Further Study is needed…
Wraith Blade Wielder’s : These poor souls are the end result of a Wraith Blade becoming attached to the body and soul of it’s wielder on point of contact. This happens when the manifestation or ghost form that the blade projects it temporary destroyed in which should a person take it upon themselves to touch or pick up the blade it will react to the manipulation and immediately mortally wound the person by piercing the heart. Soon after the wound seals and the sword is retracted by the victim now newly affected Wraith Blade Wielder at first examination the wound seems freshly new but after extensive examination of a wielder it was noted that as time went by the wound would heal quickly to the point that what may have been a few month old wound it would appear simply as a childhood scar. Further examination of the Wielders shown that glass like filaments seemed to appear throughout the body and any manipulation seemed to caused the wielder great pain. Further it was noted that the sword begin to pulsate with an odd green glow that coincide with the wielder’s heart. Upon taking care upon further research the wielder and the sword seemed to become symbiotic to one another. So much so that one could not function without the other for long periods of time. It was further noted upon the first wielder that I came across that this person would have strange dreams depicting on how the blade was made or created. This has lead me to believe that some sort of echo essence resides within the swords or infact latent essence which still applies it’s memories and feelings to the wielder. Case of fact the second wielder was attatched to a possible unfinished wraith sword who’s essence seems to coincide to that of a very lonely and frightened child. This has raised several worrisome questions in this research could the echo essences that now lay within the swords be actually from natal essence, people or spirits? Unfortunately my research focus must no longer look into this line of research. But I would suggest those that wish to know more to look into the Dark Aesthetes for answers on this topic. That or even the greywatch…
Enhancement Corruption: I (willowbark) was fortunately lucky to come across these men on one of my trips to the champion’s mountain. They seemed to have been enhanced in some way proving to be more resilient and stronger than a normal man. Sadly I was not able to fully examine them to determine why they where that way.
GreyWatch: Greywatch as is a form of corruption that some thought spires can apply to a person if they are willing. It acts as a form of benefit allowing one person to strike a spirit in such a way that it would normally mortally wound a man. Further it also puts the spirits at odds with a person of the greywatch due to previous tensions that happened back in the time of Oun. In which the Greywatch acted as the ruling enforcement over spirits. This lead to complications in the end to which much bloodshed and hatred occured and still abit of amnesty still lasts today. For anyone who wishes to become greywatch I would simply ask them to only do so with caution as there maybe other negative things instore as well. But sadly I have yet to fully study this type of corruption but I’m sure if it can be easily applied it can also be easily removed.
