Weapons of Superior Quality

Weapons of Superior Quality can be made by a master weaponsmith.

This article will document what I[Keela] have discovered is possible since mastering weaponsmithing. This is by no means exhaustive of all that is possible.

All Superior Quality Weapons are very durable and resistant to damage or breaking.

Some possible characteristics of Superior Quality Weapons:

  • strengthening the weapon to such a degree that it can resist several strong blows
  • balancing the weapon in such a way that its reach can extend beyond normal limits
  • made lighter.

Something I[Keela] have been working towards is the combination of magic and weapon. I have not yet found a way to imbue magics themselves into them. However, I[Keela] have found a way for the weapons to take to any magics they encounter by focusing on creating a harmonious balance between aesthetics and functionality. Spells seem to last longer or have more strength when used with a weapon made in this way.

Some of the more interesting looking weapons are multi-use. By combining characteristics of two different weapons, it is possible to make a mace that can be used like an axe, a spear like a sword, etc.

A spear can have barbs added to it so that a successful thrust embeds the weapon in your opponent, causing a nasty wound.

Swords can be made long and thin, taking less effort to recover with.

Any thrusting weapon can be honed and balanced to give the wielder more force when attacking.

One nasty looking piece of work is a mace covered over in protrusions that can mortally wound instead of stun. The wielder must be quite skilled to use this weapon effectively.

It is possible to make a bow on a large scale and give it the power necessary to allow a stronger wielder to cause a nasty wound when used. Or another construction can allow a trick shooter to bind his enemies, or allow the archer to strike true with almost no effort. Even still another construction can allow an archer to do simple damage with no effort at all.

In larger great axes and halberds, any mortal wounds or death blows can be made to take less effort as they are focused for the skill of the kill.

A master wielder can be crafted a weapon suited to one so familiar with the subtleties of such weapons. If you favor this weapon, it can do more and help you reach your maximum potential in a much shorter time.

It is also possible to create a weapon that is just plain out more lethal when used.

Thrown weapons are easier due to their smaller size, but they are somewhat restricted and can only have some of the above imbued into them. But one construction method solely theirs will allow a skilled wielder to pierce through shields.

If any special materials are used in the process, it reduces the cost and increases amount of construction possible.
