Honorable Dragon Scholar,
May the wisdom of the ancestors guide you
Your text intrigues me and given the propensity for others of your world to ask for extrapolation upon entires such as these, I thought I might do the same if such questions would be answered and not considered an offense. Please forgive me if they are.
Why did you choose to join the military and join the Tiger Company in particular?
Now that you have attended your first market gathering is there any information in particular you are looking forward to researching or increasing you knowledge of?
Why do you prefer to use the Kunai knives? Have you have a chance to examine the silver darts used by Ivan Byncel? If so what are your thoughts upon them? If not I might recommend you peruse a book called Unique Lumencrafted Items or ask Ivan about them himself. The topic may be of interest to you.
Have your divinations revealed or predicted anything interest concerning your future or your time in the forest?

Honored Marcus,
A scholar is himself possesed of a desire to always ask for such clarification so such requests of one’s self are never unwelcome.
In the Empire all children, when they are the correct age to take their place within society, take what is known as the Five Legged Essay which is a combination of exhaustive tests and divinatory studies based on the stars under which one was born to determine what the correct placement for each person in society is. In the Five Legged Essay it was shown that a scholar was to serve the Empire by joining the army as a soldier and that is what happened. One was trained in the use of simple weapons and to wear light armor. One developed a special fondness for kunai knives in this training. The Tiger company was where I was assigned by Imperial clerks by luck or destiny.
As for current research one is most interested in the mechanics of exactly how a Spirit or Entity of different but similar nature can infuse a piece of its self into another mortal frame thus creating a Scion, Protector, or other similar bond between it’s self and a mortal. Furthermore a scholar, having seen the world partially through the eyes of a Goblin, is convinced that there are underlying mechanical rules to all things and if something defies classification then research has simply not been done sufficiently. Therefore one has begun to create a system of classification that is broad enough that all Spirits and Powers may fit into it in an organized manner bringing some semblance of order to the current Spiritual chaos of terms.
I have examined Honored Ivan Byncel’s Lumencrafted dagger and while of interest I find that the cost of 1 twist per 3 throws is highly disproportionate to the use that one would get. My prefrence for kunai knives is intrinsically part of the following answer.
It is traditionally considered improper to divine upon one’s self as such knowledge is meant to be used as a service to strengthen others in the community not one’s self. A Scholar has only done such one time and it ended… strangely. One was given a vision and a set of instructions. Also a warning that one should not peer into ones own future to closely. One was given the instruction by He of the East Wind who’s wisdom is beyond question to lay down his weapons and instead to pick up the sword one was given at birth. One was further instructed that while a blade may kill the opponent in front of you, a well chosen word may vanquish an entire army. Therefore one put down all but his knives which are the personification of the East Winds judgment and accepted the role of company clerk and scribe. One is still a soldier, one just chooses to wield a weapon that is less traditional.
