I [Ghost Tiger] would like to point out, while technically all that is listed is fact, the examples given are extreme. I [Ghost Tiger] am not ashamed of these laws and will do my best to adhere to them and protect them as I am sworn to do. I [Ghost Tiger] know for a fact that most Justicars (at least the ones I’ve observed) make all attempts to understand both the root and wholeness of any problem.
Thus:
Treason - did/does that action have a cause that can be remedied. If so, how/why was this allowed to occur in the first place. Questioning wisdom and cutting corners may be a means to bring up other failures that deserve redress.
Family Crimes - how long has the “alleged crime” be going on? What are the results of the acts? What has been done in private to redress the perceived crimes? It can often be found that violence, lies, extortion are sometime closer to home where a family member feels safer to commit such crimes. Often, it is the subtle things that lead to bigger revelations. Obviously the family is important else the whole of the Empire would fall. It is no wonder that special attention is paid to such matters.
Violence - this is a rare occurrence and I [Ghost Tiger] can attest that even in the most grueling of conditions and the most dire of circumstances even soldiers (who one would think would be most inclined to violence) maintain discipline. The questions that must be asked is, the history of such issues and the repetitiveness of such circumstances.
Selfishness - as was stated, these cases are scrutinized with the up most care. I [Ghost Tiger] have personally seen several of these cases laid before Justicars among my men. 19 out of 20 times it is impulsive and decided that the offended is viewing things from a “personal” perspective and thus amends can be made with simple explanations and knowledge.
I [Ghost Tiger] would hope that those of the Tiger Legion that are in the Forest demonstrate what is good and right about the Empire. We are not exceptional folk and thus can be considered common examples.
So too our Justicars. I [Ghost Tiger] put my every faith in them. In deed, we rely upon them and I hope that anyone who has any doubts as to the justice, balance, and harmony that are kept by these Arbiters and Magistrates, will seek knowledge for themselves and not base their decisions on rumors, gossip, or worse.
Let it be known, I [Ghost Tiger] am not a Justicar, nor would I speak for them. I [Ghost Tiger] am merely putting things in context. A sort of “face” to the words as it were. Please keep in mind, those loyal citizens of the Empire that are here are known by all. We let our actions speak. We are not prefect, but we do try to live as best we can in a way that brings peace, harmony, and balance.
Let is also be known, we do not attempt to force this way of life on anyone. Even those that break the laws are free to do so and free to live outside them and thus outside the Wall.
It is why we are so careful in our dealings with other worlds. We would let you govern yourselves as you see fit while we govern ourselves as we see fit.
